The Tour

Be inspired and discover three unique Brisbane creative studios by joining artisan and the Ideas Festival for a three-hour tour of these rare and wonderful places.

Starting at State Library of Queensland (Ideas Festival Information Desk) the first stop is a studio in East Brisbane, creative home to talented ceramic artists Virginia Jones, Sharon Muir and Pru Morrison. These ceramic practitioners approach their medium with invention, originality and imagination.

Next stop is the studio of Barbara Heath, Jeweller to the Lost. Barbara is a highly sort after jeweller who is recognised nationally and internationally. Her work is shown regularly in important exhibitions and public art projects and she has recently had a solo show at the Queensland Art Gallery, which focused on two decades of her jewellery production. This studio is the closest thing to Aladdin’s cave that you will find in Brisbane!

The final stop on the tour is the new Urban Art Project (UAP) studio. UAP collaborates with Australian artists and this is a rare opportunity to see various artworks in production and hear some of the stories connected to these inspiring pieces. This is a magic space where visitors will be mesmerised by a one-off bronze pour while sipping champagne.

This is your opportunity to experience the creative and productive spaces that our artists work within and to hear about a variety of different production methods. Some works will be for sale directly from the artists in their studios.

Seats on the bus are limited to 30, so book early!

Artisan reserves the right to cancel tour if insufficient numbers.
