Synopsis: It's the summer of 1969 and young WILLIE is filled with the life of the idyllic old pearling port Broome, in the North of Western Australia - fishing, hanging out with his mates, and when he can, his girl ROSIE. However his mother THERESA has great hopes for him and she returns him to the religious mission in Perth for further schooling. After being punished by FATHER BENEDICTUS for an act of youthful rebellion, Willie runs away from the mission. But to where... he's too ashamed to go home, it will break his mother's heart.

Down on his luck he meets an old fella, who he calls 'Uncle' TADPOLE, and together they con a couple of hippies, ANNIE and SLIPPERY, into taking them on the 2,500 km journey through spectacular landscape back to Broome. Willie learns the hard and funny lessons he needs to get home, all the while pursued by Father Benedictus.

in an intimate setting the twilight markets will feature 36 retailers along the plaza and by the waterfront on the wharf, as well as Christmas carols and modern songs from a singing duet from Voice Works, with musical accompaniment for the course of the evening.

In Woody Allen’s new comedy, Larry David plays Boris Yellnikoff, an eccentric, pessimistic New Yorker – a quantum physicist and all round grouch - who abandons his privileged upper class life to lead a more bohemian existence. He meets a young cheerful girl from the South, and when her family get involved the entanglements become a sparkling collision. The witty, brilliant screenplay is vintage Woody Allen; the city of Manhattan a fabulous character; and
the terrific cast create a great mix of hilarity, neuroses, joie de vivre and love.

Once again, Allen has brought together a terrific cast – lead by Larry David, the creator of Seinfeld and star of Curb Your Enthusiasm. Joining him is Evan Rachel Wood who received acclaim for her role in The Wrestler and Patricia Clarkson, star of Vicky Cristina Barcelona,Elegy, Good Night and Good Luck and the upcoming Shutter Island.

July market wrap-up!

so if you were down at Portside last Sunday for our July market, you would have sensed that there was more than just a few people about....

Well, it's been confirmed, after our meeting with Portside this week, that 14000 people came along on the day!

they just kept coming through, all day long, it literally didn't stop and the feedback from retailers and the public has been wonderful. we have had several heart warming emails from retailers exclaiming that the July market was their best market day ever at any marketplace!
Many retailers handing out every last business card they had, and the constant question from customers was "when is your next market?"

we sensed it was going to be a big day from the beginning, with our website traffic reaching a 600% increase in traffic in comparison to last months total, in the first 7 days of the month. By the time our July 12th market day had arrived the website traffic was off the dial! Portside's website actually crashed on market day unable to bare the load of hits from the eager public in anticipation for the fabulous events for the day! Unheard of!!!

July also saw the launch of our Retailer of the Month - our very deserving recipient Helen from Ruby 2 Go Go. Helen's eye catching stall was constantly filled with customers, drawn immediately to it by her vivid red and white displays, and gorgeous product! Congratulations Helen! Helen wins herself a double pass to Dendy Cinemas at Portside.
