July market wrap-up!

so if you were down at Portside last Sunday for our July market, you would have sensed that there was more than just a few people about....

Well, it's been confirmed, after our meeting with Portside this week, that 14000 people came along on the day!

they just kept coming through, all day long, it literally didn't stop and the feedback from retailers and the public has been wonderful. we have had several heart warming emails from retailers exclaiming that the July market was their best market day ever at any marketplace!
Many retailers handing out every last business card they had, and the constant question from customers was "when is your next market?"

we sensed it was going to be a big day from the beginning, with our website traffic reaching a 600% increase in traffic in comparison to last months total, in the first 7 days of the month. By the time our July 12th market day had arrived the website traffic was off the dial! Portside's website actually crashed on market day unable to bare the load of hits from the eager public in anticipation for the fabulous events for the day! Unheard of!!!

July also saw the launch of our Retailer of the Month - our very deserving recipient Helen from Ruby 2 Go Go. Helen's eye catching stall was constantly filled with customers, drawn immediately to it by her vivid red and white displays, and gorgeous product! Congratulations Helen! Helen wins herself a double pass to Dendy Cinemas at Portside.

Leasl, Kerry and I would like to thank everyone for their support over the last few months, we couldn't have done this without you!

So we will see you all on the 9th of August for our next market!

The sweetest strawberries have been sourced and rare blends of exotic coffee and exquisite chocolate from remote locations are en route to Portside Wharf for the annual Coffee & Chocolate Affair presented by Lexus of Brisbane. today's coin purse Tuesday comes straight from the kitchen at Tabitha's Place, who completely sold out of their delectable petite cupcakes, in the first few hours of trade on Sunday at the Boutique Markets

now, if you are a connoisseur of cupcakes, their range is sure to impress, with delectable petite cupcakes from only $2. Freshly baked and hand decorated for the markets, they sure have a job on their hands next month, as the word is out now about the divine cupcakes!

Tabitha's Place also has a fabulous range of gourmet biscuits which will also be available at from July market, but you better get to the market early before they all disappear!

What a fabulous job we have, to be surrounded by such talented individuals.

Milk and Honey

Milk and Honey will be joining us for our market relaunch at Portside Wharf on the 14Th of June, and we are so excited to have this gorgeous children's wear label on board. Individual children's fashion and home wares designed and handcrafted in their studio in Brisbane.

Today Rachael and I popped over to Portside - Boutique Markets home - and along with a very decadent vego big breakfast, I managed to take a few piccies...

I somehow found a few of my favourite things - reflections and looking through glass of course!

I love the architectural strength the buildings have and the quirky details from orange chairs to

swirling scultures. Come on June 14th!!

It's official - our new marketplace is here!

"A unique shopping experience featuring some of the best local talent in art, craft and design located in one of Brisbane's premier riverfront dining and shopping precincts!"

The Boutique Markets (formerly known as the Designers Emporium) has recently found a new home at Portside Wharf in Hamilton, Brisbane. Since its inception in 2007 our market has grown in profile and size to become a hub of local creative talent which offers a unique shopping experience; boutique shopping in a market atmosphere. Our expanded market will now be located in the exclusive riverfront shopping and dining precinct of Portside on the second Sunday of each month, between 8am and 1pm.

Proudly supporting local independent design and craft, our market will host the work of more than fifty South East QLD -based stallholders including artists, designers, stylists, crafters and artisans. The market aims to promote and cultivate emerging local talent by offering a forum to promote and sell their work to the public.

This in turn offers design savvy shoppers unique access to high quality handmade and limited edition products not available elsewhere, direct from the region's thriving art and design community. As a locality Portside offers a great day out with an array of waterfront eateries, bars, cinemas, fresh food markets and retail shopping in addition to a first class international cruise terminal. The Boutique Markets offers a perfect compliment to the venue; it creates a festival style ambiance in the outdoor plaza. Spend the day meandering between stalls and stroll the waterfront promenade before enjoying lunch in one of the many restaurants or cafes.

The new Boutique Markets website and our new blog offers a portal to keep up to date on market events or to discover the stallholders which will be featured there.
